It’s not only his writing that has made Hamel one of the world’s most sought-after business consultants, speakers, and advisors.

He’s one of the most well-known and controversial thinkers in the field of corporate management. “The Future of Management” is only one of his numerous books, both fiction and nonfiction, that Fast Company has deemed a “great book in the decade.” Hamel is a sought-after corporate consultant, lecturer, and adviser due to more than just his publications.
When Hamel was born in 1954, he was raised in London. He has an economics degree from the University of London and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He spent eight years as a management consultant with McKinsey & Company.

He was designated professor of strategic and international management at the London Business School after leaving McKinsey in 1987. Professor and director of research at London Business School for 17 years.

When Hamel left London Business School in 2004, he became a visiting professor at Harvard Business School. INSEAD, the European Business School, has also had him as a guest lecturer.
